My Professional Work: Organization Behavior; Life

Executives and leaders in most organizations live in a work environment that often creates distance and isolation from others. This can be mentally challenging and emotionally draining. Difficult decisions are made everyday and making the right decision in the right way can weigh heavily on your career and personal life. Often these decisions are not only about others, but rather about ones own aspirations, expectations and fears.

Most executives and leaders work within management teams, however those teams may not be the best resource or outlet to share what can be burdensome responsibilities that not only involve other people's lives, but your life as an executive or leader. This coupled with a need for objectivity and confidentiality can leave you with having to find other vehicles to share ideas, concerns, fears and aspirations in a safe and supportive environment that focuses on change.

We learn to accept ourselves when we seek to discover rather than hide or hide from our inner reality. That is, what's really going on inside of us, what do we really think, what should we do or understand as possible? We can only share with others those parts of ourselves which we have discovered and accepted. We can change or improve only those things about ourselves which are thoroughly examined and recognized as needing change. Executives and leaders find it difficult, at best, to engage in sharing and discovering with team members and colleagues.

I have been doing executive and life coaching for over 25 years in the U.S. and Europe. My education, experience and background are in clinical psychology, guidance and counseling, executive development and organization behavior. I hold a BA in Psychology, a Masters in Guidance and Counseling and have completed the course work and orals for a Doctorate in Applied Psychology and Organization Behavior. I am a certified executive coach and a licensed psychological and vocational counselor.

My approach to coaching is an appreciative one that embraces strong values of integrity, excellence, discovery, change and results orientation. I have a strong passion for making a difference by helping others make a difference and feel good about having done so.
